1 tsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp minced ginger
1 lb Chinese broccoli (gai lan) stems and leaves
separated, stems cut into 2" lengths
1/2 cup chicken stock
(or canned chicken broth or water)
1 tbl Chinese rice wine
(or dry sherry)
1 tsp sugar
Instructions:
Instructions: Place a wok over high heat until hot. Add oil, swirling to coat the sides. Add ginger; cook until fragrant, about 10 seconds. Add stem pieces and cook, stirring for about 1 minute. Add the leaves, stock, wine and sugar. Cover and cook until broccoli is tender crisp and bright green, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Add fish sauce, mix well and transfer to a serving plate.

This recipe yields 4 servings.
