Stone fruits are named for their rather convenient anatomy: Their flesh grows around a large pit or stone. This makes them especially tempting for plain ordinary eating out of hand as well as a good choice for cutting up into salad. In this savory dish a short marination allows the delicate scent of chervil to make its way into the mix of flavours. Without the taming effects of romaine and cucumbers this would also make a luscious dessert.
