Instructions: Syrup for desert can be prepared a day ahead; keep covered in the refrigerator.
Using a vegetable peeler, cut thin strips of peel from orange and cut into fine long strips. Place water and sugar in a small saucepan, stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved. Add orange peel, bring to the boil and simmer for 2 mins. Cool syrup, stir into Cointreau or orange juice and refrigerate. Combine strawberries, and blueberries and syrup.
