Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first three ingredients and set aside. Cream butter or margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Stir in dry ingredients. Shape dough into a log and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.

Flour your work surface, rolling pin and inside of cookie cutter so that dough does not stick.

For shaped cookies, roll out a small amount of dough about 1/4 inch thick and cut with a cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove and transfer to wire rack to cool. Frost or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
