Instructions: 1/2 Cup cold water
1/4 cup all-purpose flour Coat meat with mixture of the 3 tablespoons flour, salt, pepper, and thyme. In skillet, brown meat, half at a time, in hot oil. Drain off fat. Place vegetables and apple in slow cooker. Place meat atop. Pour juice and vinegar over meat. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 10 to 12 hours. Turn cooker to HIGH setting. Blend 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup flour; stir into stew. Cover and cook 15 minutes or till thickened. Season to taste. Swan says: I have also used apple cider for this stew as opposed to cranberry raspberry juice. We just always have the cranraspberry juice in our frig. Email this Recipe:
