Instructions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Use nonstick cookie sheets, grease lightly, or line with parchment paper.
Sift together flour and baking powder; set aside. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and extracts; mix well. Stir in flour gradually, mixing to form a smooth dough. Makes two to three dozen. Put dough through a cookie press with a star-shaped tip, forming "S" shapes, or form shapes of your own. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned. NOTES : These buttery Swedish cookies with a hint of almond are traditionally put through a cookie press to make various shapes.
