Instructions: Bring the jaggery and tamarind to a boil and simmer over a low heat until the mixture turns shiny and the jaggery is completely melted.
If the mixture starts to get too dry and sticky add more water. Add all the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 5 minutes. Cool and serve at room temperature. A sweet and sour dish that provide a change of taste in a simple meal. Goes with virtually anything from samosas to dumplings in yoghurt.
