3 lrg potatoes, peeled and sliced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Prepared mustard
4 oz Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
3 med onions, thinly sliced
1/4 cup bacon bits
1/2 cup dry vermouth
1/4 cup dried bread crumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 F. In a buttered casserole dish; place a layer of the potatoes. Sprinkle on the salt and black pepper. Spread the mustard on the Swiss cheese slices and place a layer of the cheese slices on top of the potatoes. Layer the onions on top of the cheese and sprinkle with the bacon bits. Repeat layers until the dish is full.

Pour the vermouth over the top and sprinkle on the bread crumbs. Top with the Parmesan cheese and dot with the butter. Bake, covered, for 20 minutes. Uncover and allow top to brown. Bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes more. Serve immediately.

YIELD: 6 TO 8 SERVINGS
