Instructions: Whisk butter, sugar and vanilla until thick and pale. Add eggs one at a time, beating well.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

Add alternately with the milk, beating well.

Pour batter into a greased baking tin and bake 370 F for 30 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly and dust with icing sugar.

Serve while warm.
