Instructions: CAKE DIRECTIONS: Cream the margarine and shortening together. Beat in sugar till mixture is fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, blending in each time, thoroughly. Sift flour, cocoas, baking powder, soda and cinnamon together. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with water and buttermilk mixture. Add vanilla. Blend thoroughly and bake in oblong pan at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Frost immediately with Texas icing.
ICING DIRECTIONS: Combine first 3 ingredients ins saucepan and bring to rolling boil. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and copped nuts. Cook on low heat while cake is in oven and spread on cake as soon as it comes out from the oven. Email this Recipe:
