Instructions: Combine brown sugar, butter, egg yolk and flour. Mix well.

Shape dough into small balls. Beat egg white. Roll each hall in egg white, then in chopped nuts and place on ungreased cookie sheet Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake 2 minutes. Remove from oven and push thumb in each ball, then bake approximately 2 more minutes. Garnish with icing, maraschino cherries, or chocolate kisses.
