Instructions: Toast almonds in 450 degree oven for 5 minutes, until golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Remove from oven and cool.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream butter and sugar together until well blended. Add anise seed and almond extract, mix well, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and toasted almonds. Mix thoroughly. Pour into well greased and floured 9 x 3 x 5 inch loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minutes or until done. Email this Recipe:
