Instructions: BLEND BUTTER, SUGARS, AND VANILLA; ADD BEATEN EGG. MIX TOGETHER FLOUR, SODA AND SALT. ADD TO BUTTER MIX. ADD A FEW DROPS OF HOT WATER. MIX UNTIL WELL BLENDED. STIR IN CHIPS AND NUTS. DROP BY 1/2 TEASPOONSFUL ONTO GREASED COOKIE SHEET. BAKE AT 350 DEG F FOR 10 TO 12 MINUTES.
