1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
8 x garlic cloves, crushed
3 lb ripe plum tomatoes, cored, peeled and seeded, or 1 (35-ounce) can
peeled Italian plum tomatoes, seeded and lightly crushed with their liquid
Salt
Peperoncino (crushed red pepper)
Instructions:
Instructions: 1. Heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until lightly browned. Add the tomatoes and their liquid, and bring to a boil. Season with salt and peperoncino.

2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer. While the tomatoes are cooking, break them up with a whisk until the sauce is chunky and thick - about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes before the sauce is finished, stir in the basil.
