Instructions: Cooks notes: This chili is spicy, so you may wish to reduce the amount of jalapeno, chipotle and chili powder by half or so; you can always add a bit more to taste as the chili simmers. For a leaner, lighter chili, shop for ground turkey that contains breast meat only or white and dark meat only, but with no added skin. Chipotle chiles (available in some supermarkets in the Mexican or imported foods section, or in ethnic food stores) provides a nice hint of smokiness as well as spicy heat to dishes. If you cant find it, use mild or hot canned chilies and a few drops of Liquid Smoke to taste.
Prepare the chili: Cook onions and garlic in stock until translucent. Add ground turkey, peppers and chili; simmer for 5 more minutes, breaking up meat while cooking. Stir in chili powder, cumin, cori ander, tomato puree, salt, pepper, and beans. Simmer for about 20 minutes or until flavors are thoroughly blended. Presentation: Serve with desired garnishes. Corn bread or crackers make a good accompaniment. Email this Recipe:
