1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage no casing
1 x onion chopped
1 x garlic clove crushed
1 sm carrot chopped
2 x celery stalks chopped
1 can peeled diced tomatoes - (28 oz)
2 can tomato paste - (6 oz ea)
1 tsp sugar
1 tbl chopped fresh oregano
1 tbl chopped fresh basil
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1/2 cup dry red wine
Hot cooked pasta
Instructions:
Instructions: Turn slow cooker on HIGH. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook and stir until meat is broken up into small pieces.

Turn pot on LOW. Add remaining ingredients, except pasta and cheese. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 9 hours.

Spoon over your favorite pasta. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

This recipe yields about 8 cups.
