Instructions: Heat oven to 375F. Grease baking sheets. Sift together 1 cup of the flour and baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream together sugar and butter/margarine. Add egg; mix well. Add sour cream; mix until mixture is smooth and no lumps of sour cream appear. Add vanilla. Stir sifted ingredients into butter/sugar mixture. Gradually add remaining flour until a semi-firm but smooth consistency is obtained. Add chocolate chips; mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets, spacing well apart. Bake 12-15 mins or until cookies are lightly golden. Remember, these cookies will not brown, so be careful not to overbake.
Because these cookies have a cakelike texture, the sugar doesnt carmelize and the cookies dont brown the way other chocolate chip cookies do. Email this Recipe:
