Instructions: Preheat oven to 450 F. Prepare the pie pastry. Line the pie pan with the bottom crust, using half of the dough. Keep the remaining dough chilled.
Combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, cornstarch and lemon zest. Add apples and lemon juice. Mix well and turn into crust. Dot with unsalted butter Roll out the top crust and lay it on the filling. Trim off any excess dough, crimp the edges, and vent. Bake at 450 F for 10 minutes. Reduce to 350 F and bake about 45 minutes more. NOTES : Apple Pie Email this Recipe:
