Avocado hash: ----------------
1 med , ripe avocado, peeled, pitted and finely diced
1/2 tsp lime juice
2 tbl minced fresh chives
1 tbl minced fresh basil
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
----------------- Tuna steaks: ----------------
2 x 6- to (8-ounce) tuna steaks, cut 3/4 to 1 inch thick
1/2 tsp coarsely crushed pepper
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp olive oil
Instructions:
Instructions: To make hash: In bowl, combine avocado, lime juice, chives, basil, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Makes 1 cup.

To make tuna steaks: Place tuna on a plate and press 1/4 teaspoon pepper into each steak. Season each with 1/4 teaspoon salt and brush with 1 teaspoon oil.

Place tuna on broiler pan and broil 3 inches from heat, allowing 4 minutes per side. Remove from broiler. Place 1 steak on each of 2 plates. Either top with hash or serve on the side. Garnish plates with lime wedges.
