Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place sheets of foil on counter top for cooling cookies.
Combine shortening, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Mix into shortening mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 1 baking sheet at a time for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies (cookies will appear light and moist) or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Let cool 2 minutes on baking sheet; remove cookies to foil to cool completely. Yield:3 dozen cookies. Email this Recipe:
