Instructions: Scald milk in top of double boiler. Add sugar and salt and stir until dissolved. Soak gelatin in cold water. Add gelatin to milk and blend together. Cool. Add vanilla and pour into freezer container. For maple flavored ice cream, use brown sugar and maple flavoring. Enough mix for 1/2 gallon freezer.
