1 cup sweet butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
3/4 cup flour
a Pinch of salt
1/2 cup blanched ground almonds
Confectioners sugar for dusting
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extracts; beat well. Stir in flour, salt and ground almonds. Mix well and form into a firm ball. Wrap in plastic wrap or wax paper, and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Divide dough into two portions, and shape each into a thin cylinder. Cut off 1-inch slices. Shape each slice into a small crescent, rolling the dough between your hands.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 7 to 10 minutes, being careful not to let the cookies brown. They should remain light in color.

On a flat plate, add one package of Vanilla Sugar to about 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar. While cookies are still warm, gently remove them from cookie sheet and dust well with the powdered sugar mixture.
