Ingredients:

2 tbl vegetable oil
4 x green onions, sliced
2 x garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
2 x fresh hot green chilies, seeded and sliced
1 x (4-oz.) can water chestnuts, diced
2 x (4-oz.) cakes spiced tofu
6 x dried black winter mushrooms, soaked in hot water 25 minutes, drained
1 cup diced cucumber
2 tbl black bean paste
1 tsp rice wine or dry sherry
1 tsp red bean paste
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground white pepper
4 oz deep-fried gluten balls, if desired (see Note)
2 tbl water
Instructions:
Instructions: In a wok, heat vegetable oil, add green onions and garlic, and stir fry 3 or 4 minutes until just beginning to color. Add bell pepper, chilies and water chestnuts; stir-fry 1 minute. Stir in remaining ingredients except sesame oil and cook 3 minutes. Serve sprinkled with sesame oil.
