Instructions: Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 1-quart baking dish with butter. In a large skillet, saute onions in butter until tender over medium heat.

Remove from heat; stir in sour cream. Spoon half of onions into prepared dish; sprinkle with cheese. Top with remaining onions and cracker crumbs. Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes.

Serves 4 to 6. Tender, sweet Vidalia onions make for a rich, luscious casserole.
