Instructions: Separate eggs and beat yolks. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in egg yolks.
Mix flour with spices and salt and add to previous mixture with the water and vinegar. Cook over hot water until thick, stirring constantly. Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue, which has been made with the egg whites stiffly beaten with the 1/4 cup sugar. Brown in 325 oven for 15 minutes.
