Instructions: Cream shortening and sugar together. Put 2 eggs in 8 oz cup; add milk to fill.
Add to creamed mixture. Combine dry ingredients. Add to sugar, shortening, and egg mixture about a cup at a time. Add currants. Chill dough. (can be made a day or two before). Roll out in batches on cutting board. Use a combination of sugar and flour to roll dough. Cut with a round cookie cutter. Grill in an electric skillet set at 350 degrees F. When tops get shiny turn over, this takes about 6 minutes. Cool on wire rack. They freeze well. Yield: about 6 dozen. Email this Recipe:
