1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup wet bread see note
3 x eggs separated
1 lrg lemon juice of
2 tbl butter
3 tbl sugar
1 x 8" baked pie shell
Instructions:
Instructions: Heres a circa 1971 lemon pie recipe that uses white bread in the filling.

NOTE; to prepare wet bread remove crust from bread & dip in bowl of water until it absorbs enough water to wet thoroughly. Squeeze out the water & measure 1 Cup. Do not pack tight.

In top of double boiler mix wet bread, 1 C sugar, egg yolks, lemon juice, a butter. Cook until thick, stirring occasionally. Pour into baked crust. To with meringue made with the egg whites & 3 Tblsp sugar.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, until browned.
