Instructions: Microwave: Pour boiling water over oats and butter which has been broken into chunks. Stir until butter melts; set aside. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt; add to oat mixture; mix well; add sugars then eggs and mix thoroughly. Bake in 2 quart Pyrex 12 minutes, turning dish often. Frost with What Cake Topping.
What Cake Topping: Combine sugar, milk and butter in 1 quart glass casserole. Bring to boil and continue cooking one minute in microwave. Blend in pecans and coconut and spread on What Cake. This cake was in the recipe book for my very first microwave circa 1973. It is delicious and is reminiscent of German chocolate cake although theres no chocolate in it.
