Instructions: Rinse the beans with cold water and drain.
Heat the oil garlic and sage together gently in a saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes then stir in the beans. Press the tomatoes through a sieve into the pan. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir gently. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve hot as a vegetable or cold topped with tuna fish as an antipasto. Serves 4 Note: If cannellini beans are unobtainable cover 175g dried haricot beans with boiling water and soak overnight.
