Instructions: Preparation: 5 minutes. With this white powder, you can make gravies, suaces, and creamed soups ikn a jiffy.
Place the ingredients in a 1 pint jar, cover tightly, and shake well to mix. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks. Use for making cream suaces and gravies as directed below. makes about 1.5 cups. TO MAKE THIN WHITE SAUCE OR GRAVIES: Ina small saucepan, blend 1/4 cup Basic White Suace Mix with 1 cup water, low sodium chicken broth, or low sodium beef broth. Set over moderate heat and ring to a simmer, whisking constantly. Cook, uncovered, stirrin goften, until sauce thickens - about 3 minutes. SEason to taste with salt and pepper. Do nto allow sauce to boil or it may curdle. Makes about 1 cup. TO MAKE MEDIUM WHITE SACUE OR GRAVIES: Use 1/3 cup Basic White Sauce Mix and 1 cup water, low sodium chicken broth, or low sodium beef broth. Proceed as sdirected above. Makes about 1 cup.
