Instructions: Preheat oven to 375. Spray 2 (8x4) loaf pans with vegetable cooking spray. Combine dry ingredients and mix well. Add molasses and buttermilk and stir until moistened. Divide batter between pans and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool slightly before slicing.
Yield:"2 loaves" NOTES : Freezes well. Original recipe called for 2.5 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup cornmeal in place of bran and flaxseed. Original recipe also called for 1 c golden raisins and 1/2 c sugar in addition to the molasses. Salt was originally 1 tsp. Email this Recipe:
