Instructions: Place fruits in food processor or blender. Finely chop. Add 1/2 cup wine. Mix again at low speed. Add remaining ingredients and mix at low speed until nearly smooth. Refrigerate.
Sephardic Charoset (Combination of Syrian, Moroccan and Yemenite recipes) 1 cup pitted dates 1 apple, peeled 1/2 cup raisins 1/2 cup chopped walnuts ginger juice (grate a fresh piece of ginger and squeeze the grated portion to extract the juice) sweet wine Process peeled apple in food processor. Add remaining ingredients and process until smooth. Add ginger juice and wine to taste. All measurements are approximate - you really need to taste as you go. Also, feel free to add/substitute other dried fruits (e.g.,figs, apricots, prunes, etc), spices (e.g., cinnamon), and nuts. Charoset 3/4 cup water 1 Tbsp potato starch 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup honey 3-4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped into small pieces 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 1/2 cup white raisins Cinnamon wine to taste Mix water, potato starch, sugar and honey in a saucepan. Cook and stir until thick and clear. Cool Prepare apples and nuts. Mix with honey mixture. Add cinnamon to taste. Just before serving mix in wine by the Tablespoon. Mix all of the above together.
